Asante Afrika Camps and Lodges is uniquely located, we are the only camp at the entrance of the Mikumi National Park border, a paradisiacal retreat for your next holidays in Tanzania. Capacity for 20 guest in 8 rooms perfectly integrated into the surrounding nature; ample space for camping with toilets and showers in the countryside and contact live with the wildlife of the park.

Asante Afrika Camp consists of eight spacious and comfortable tents overlooking the endless view of the wilderness and surrounding landscape that reflect the African traditional building style with thatched roofs and modern comfort. Camping enthusiasts can also rent tents at campsites.

Tents are well decorated and furnished with private en suite facilities with flushing toilets, bathrooms with hot and cold showers, mosquito nets, comfortable tropical wooden beds with clean bedding, free toiletries, complimentary bottled water, white pillows and sheets, slippers, and many more.

The rooms have verandas, terraces, and large sitting areas with views of the wilderness and wildlife that roams around the camp because it is not completely fenced. There is a crackling fireplace where guests relax and share stories about the safari as they enjoy warmth during chilly nights. Rooms are divided into categories and have single beds for individuals, double/twin beds for sharing, and family rooming options.

The region’s activities and attractions include Udzungwa hikes, waterfalls, flora and fauna, as well as wild game. The lodge is set up as an idyllic, romantic weekend escape and a magnificent family vacation getaway. With 40 en suite rooms, the lodge has been carefully constructed to cause minimal impact on the surrounding Udzungwa forest, which acts as a catchment area for water that is used domestically in the village and for irrigation in the sugarcane plantations.

This lodge  is just 55kms from Mikumi National Park.

It is about 300km to the West of Dar es salaam along the Dar-Mbeya highway

Wildlife

Nicknamed as little Serengeti national park is Mikumi national park, its rich with a wide range of wildlife. The park hosts large number of the big game that covers four members of African bi five only missing Rhinos. Mikumi is a home of large herds of Elephants, Buffaloes, Zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, Leopards, Lions, Sable Antelopes, Great Kudu, and many more. The chances of seeing tree climbing lions in Mikumi national park are higher than in the famous tree climbing lions home that is Lake Manyara national park.

Bird Species

This large number of birds has made the park one of the birding destinations in the Southern part of Tanzania. Its found in the center of the national park connecting Uluguru mountains with Udzungwa mountains and Uvidunda.  Malundwe Mountains is consist of three peaks with the highest peak found on the Southern part reaching up to 1290 meters.

Interesting and simple!
The staff is very nice and helpfully!
The rooms are ok, but miss some details like better lights, broked toilet seats!
But it is interesting!

Close to the national park and close to the road!
